• Why it works: Tallow is an absolute powerhouse for skincare. Because its fatty acid profile is incredibly similar to our skin’s natural oils (sebum), it absorbs beautifully without sitting on the surface like synthetic petroleum jellies. Packed with naturally occurring, fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K, our premium, carefully rendered tallow helps to deeply nourish dry patches and forms a breathable, water-resistant barrier to protect against nappy rash.

• Why it works: Fun fact: Jojoba oil isn't actually an oil, but a liquid plant wax! Much like tallow, it closely mimics the skin's natural sebum, making it incredibly gentle and non-comedogenic (meaning it won't clog pores). It works perfectly alongside the tallow to give our balm its fluffy, cloud-like texture while delivering soothing hydration to irritated, sensitive, or eczema-prone skin.

• Why it works: Synthetic fragrances are one of the leading causes of skin irritation in babies. Instead of using artificial perfumes or potentially overpowering essential oils, we slowly infuse our tallow with whole, real vanilla beans. This naturally imparts a soft, warm, and comforting scent while providing a gentle boost of antioxidants to help soothe the skin.

Because our balm is 100% natural and waterless, it is incredibly rich and concentrated. A little goes a very long way! The fluffy, whipped texture is designed to melt instantly upon contact with your baby's skin.

For the Booty (Nappy Changes)

1. Ensure your baby’s skin is completely clean and dry.

2. Scoop a tiny, pea-sized amount from the jar using clean, dry hands.

3. Warm the balm briefly between your fingertips until it melts into a soft oil.

4. Gently glide it over the nappy area to create a pure, breathable, water-resistant barrier that protects against wetness and soothes irritation.

For the Body (Daily Moisture & Massage)

1. For maximum hydration, use immediately after bath time while your baby’s skin is still slightly damp—this helps lock the moisture right in!

2. Take a small scoop and warm it in the palms of your hands.

3. Gently massage it into your baby's skin. The warm vanilla scent and melting texture make this perfect for a calming, bonding baby massage before bedtime.

Q: Is this balm safe to use with cloth nappies?

A: Yes! Because our balm is 100% natural and entirely free from sticky petroleum or zinc, it washes out much easier than traditional nappy creams. However, because it is rich in natural lipids (tallow and jojoba), we recommend using a reusable or disposable liner to prevent any long-term oil build-up on your modern cloth nappies (MCNs).

Q: How long does one jar usually last?

A: A little goes a very long way! Because our balm is completely waterless and contains zero fillers, it is incredibly concentrated. Just a pea-sized amount melts beautifully into the skin and is usually plenty for a nappy change. Depending on how often you use it, a standard jar can easily last anywhere from 2 to 4 months.

Q: How should I store the balm, and what is its shelf life?

A: As a 100% natural product without synthetic preservatives, our balm is best used within 6 to 12 months of opening. To keep it as fresh and fluffy as the day you bought it, store the jar in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Top tip: Always make sure your hands are clean and completely dry before scooping out the balm to keep water out of the jar!

Q: Is it safe for newborns?

A: Absolutely. Newborn skin is incredibly delicate, which is why we created a formula with only three pure ingredients. We intentionally left out harsh essential oils, synthetic fragrances, and preservatives. The slow vanilla bean infusion provides a comforting, beautiful scent without the risk of irritation.

Q: I've heard tallow can smell a bit "beefy." Does this balm?

A: Not ours! We source only premium, high-quality suet from the New England region of NSW and use a meticulous, artisanal rendering process in small batches. This ensures our tallow base is exceptionally pure, clean, and completely neutralized. The only scent you’ll notice is the warm, soothing aroma of our real vanilla bean infusion.
